ATTENTION VETERAN HOUSEKEEPER MANAGERS!!!
We are currently hiring exceptional Chief Housekeepers to join our talented shipboard staff! The Chief Housekeeper is responsible for the direction of the overall housekeeping function aboard the vessel, thereby helping guests have a truly memorable vacation!
Responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring that quality standards, regulations and service are met, by observing and evaluating employees and work procedures
• Reviewing audit comments, discussing with subordinate staff and implementing audit recommendations
• Continuously monitoring workstations and staff to ensure adherence to USPH procedures for sanitation and cleanliness
• Quickly and accurately investigating & resolving housekeeping quality & service complaints, always with a view to exceed the guests’ expectations.
• Providing on-the-job training to improve your team’s current performance, and prepare them for advancement.
• Meeting with staff to review guest comments to implement revisions and improvements
• Overseeing all housekeeping-related events and general events that require housekeeping’s assistance
• Meeting with subordinate managers and staff to review the requirements of the day’s housekeeping schedule, international and disabled guest requirements, and disseminates any other company-related correspondence, notices, polices, procedures, etc.
• Providing final approval for overtime needs.
• Overseeing the assignment of duties, responsibilities and workstations to employees.
• Monitoring supply levels to ensure that the crew has the resources necessary to perform their housekeeping duties
• Performing any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING
• 5 to 7 years of housekeeping management in a high-volume hotel, (preferably 4 or 5 star hotel).
• Proven knowledge of cleaning procedures with regard to public health standards
• Extensive knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment
• Demonstrated aptitude for the financial aspects of a housekeeping function, including budgeting and the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university (international equivalent also accepted)
• Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Office (programs include Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Comprehension of policies and practices involved in the human resources function.
• Ability to speak read and write English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
This position is located onboard one of our vessels.
All International applicants must have the ability to obtain a C1D Visa
Shipboard employees must be able to physically lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without aid
Foreign language skills are preferred, but not required
